“The path isn’t a straight line, it’s a spiral. You continually come back to things you thought you understood and see deeper truths.”
I am a registered Clinical Psychologist in private practice based in Johannesburg. I am fluent in Afrikaans and English and comfortable conducting therapy in both.
I received my Master’s Degree in Theology from the University of Pretoria as well as my Master’s Degree (with distinction) in Clinical Psychology from the University of Johannesburg. I completed my internship at TARA H. Moross Psychiatric Hospital (Child Unit) and Chris Hani Baragwanath Academic Hospital (Adult Unit). After completing my internship, I commenced with my Community Service year at Chris Hani Baragwanath Academic Hospital (Child Unit). During these training years I worked with a team of psychiatrists, occupational therapists and social workers to treat children, adolescents and adults. In these settings I worked from a diveristy of therapeutic apporaches with a wide range of psychological difficulties. I gained extensive experience in individual psychotherapy, family and group therapy as well as parental guidance. I administered various assessments (emotional, intellectual, personality and neuropsychological) and serviced the Cochlear Implant team and the Transgender Clinic.
