About Me

“The path isn’t a straight line, it’s a spiral. You continually come back to things you thought you understood and see deeper truths.”

I am a registered Clinical Psychologist in private practice based in Johannesburg, also specialising in Neuropsychology. I am fluent in Afrikaans and English and comfortable conducting therapy in both.

I received my Master’s Degree in Theology from the University of Pretoria as well as my Master’s Degree (with distinction) in Clinical Psychology from the University of Johannesburg. I completed my internship at TARA H. Moross Psychiatric Hospital (Child Unit) and Chris Hani Baragwanath Academic Hospital (Adult Unit). After completing my internship, I commenced my Community Service year at Chris Hani Baragwanath Academic Hospital (Child Unit). During these training years, I worked with a team of psychiatrists, occupational therapists and social workers to treat children, adolescents and adults. In these settings, I worked from a diversity of therapeutic approaches with a wide range of psychological difficulties. I gained extensive experience in individual psychotherapy, family and group therapy as well as parental guidance. I administered various assessments (emotional, intellectual, personality and neuropsychological) and serviced the Cochlear Implant team and the Transgender Clinic.

In my practice, I see children, adolescents and adults for short and long term therapy as individuals, couples, families or groups. I have an integrative approach to therapy depending on each individual’s or group’s needs. I, therefore, work from various approaches.

These include, but are not limited to:

  • Psychodynamic Psychotherapy
  • Cognitive Behavioural Therapy
  • Dialectical Behaviour Therapy
  • Existential Therapy
  • Family Systems Therapy
  • Narrative Therapy
  • Schema Therapy
  • Solution-Focused Brief Therapy
  • Imago Therapy

My areas of interest include the following:

  • Neuropsychology
  • Attachment, behavioural and relationship difficulties
  • Anxiety Disorders
  • Mood Disorders
  • Personality Disorders
  • Bereavement and Grief
  • LGBTIQA+ Affirmative Support
